Vision & Mission

Bridging Cocoa Production and Chocolate Consumption

The Good Chocolate Hub as an educational, networking and advocacy platform for sustainable cocoa and chocolate value chains

Why we do what we do:

Chocolate should be enjoyment—without a bitter aftertaste.

The cocoa sector faces enormous challenges: Millions of farmers live in poverty, child labor is widespread, and environmental issues like deforestation and climate change threaten the livelihoods of entire communities.
Despite decades of efforts, little has changed to address these problems. These imbalances are no accident—they are the result of a global system in which responsibility for fair conditions is often shifted onto others.
Switzerland plays a central role in this: Here, the chocolate industry’s market power, expertise, and influence come together. That is precisely why it is our duty to advocate—politically and as a society—for real change:
— for living incomes,
— for an end to child labor,
— for the protection of forests and biodiversity,
— for fair market conditions that respect human rights and environmental standards throughout the entire value chain.

We, at the Good Chocolate Hub, are convinced that honest and fair chocolate production is possible.

Vision & Mission:

We envision a future in which chocolate and cocoa products create real, local value—strengthening communities and ecosystems, and produced by people whose work is carried out with dignity and respect. Chocolate should not only bring pleasure and joy, but also tell stories through its unique flavors and embody transparent, fair  and secure value for everyone involved.

By sharing knowledge, fostering sustainable networks, and promoting conscious consumption while highlighting possible courses of action, we raise awareness of the social and environmental challenges in cocoa cultivation. With educational formats such as school workshops, our Ethical Chocolate Tour, and innovative events, we bring these issues to a broad public.

Politically, we work together with partner organizations to advocate for better conditions, greater transparency, and improved living standards for cocoa farming families. Through our “Schoggifestival ehrundredlich” and other platforms, we encourage exchange between small chocolate producers, scientists, consumers, and civil society—creating new impulses for a sustainable future in chocolate.

Our mission: Chocolate whose value is built on honesty, justice, knowledge, and community—from the cocoa bean all the way to conscious consumption and enjoyment. So, it is TIME TO SHIFT and to talk about chocolate differently. We want to change the rules and open a new chapter about how cocoa is produced, sold and consumed. For chocolate that is good for everyone.
