Switzerland – a responsible chocolate hotspot. For a fair cocoa value chain without exploitation.
We are delighted to announce that the Good Chocolate Hub is now officially part of the Coalition for Corporate Responsibility (Koalition für Konzernverantwortung). Why is this important to us? Switzerland is one of the world’s most important locations for the world’s largest chocolate companies (Lindt, Nestlé, Mondelez) – many global players in the chocolate industry have their headquarters or central offices here. But this position also comes with a special responsibility.
Unfortunately, serious abuses continue to exist in many cocoa-producing countries: child labour, environmental destruction, exploitation of producers and a lack of transparency in supply chains are just some of the challenges. As a Swiss organisation, we want to help ensure that corporations are held accountable for their actions throughout the entire value chain.
Our membership in the Coalition for Corporate Responsibility reflects our commitment to strengthening fair and sustainable structures in the cocoa and chocolate sector. Together with over 90 human rights and environmental organisations, we are working to make Switzerland an international role model for corporate responsibility.
