Would you like to dive into the origins of chocolate making?
Then join our Metate Workshop! Here, you can experience all the production steps of chocolate making yourself: you will sort and roast cocoa beans by hand, first grind them with a mill and then with the metate – a traditional grinding stone used by the Olmecs and Aztecs over 3,000 years ago. Using this special technique, you will grind the roasted beans into artisanal chocolate, which you can, of course, also taste – freshly ground on its own or as hot chocolate at home.
The team from Good Chocolate Hub will introduce you to the traditional Mexican way of making chocolate and provide you with fascinating insights: the history of cocoa, where cocoa comes from, and how Switzerland became the “chocolate nation.”
The Metate Workshop is an interactive experience for everyone who loves new experiences, traditional craftsmanship, and a bit of a workout. We offer family workshops as well as adult workshops.
